Possibility to mention a group in JSM project

I would like to ask if we have the ability to create a group in JSM project and inside the issues can mention them to receive a short notice from it. Also i would like to add that there is no  workaround plan for another solution and this will happen at any transition randomly. Furthermore, after some research i found that in JIRA DC we can use the add-on: Group mentions that helps our cause.

Could you please provide us with some information about that?

Are you working with Jira DC or Jira Cloud? You mentioned Jira DC in your post, but your post tags indication you are using a Jira Cloud Free subscription.

In Jira Cloud it is not possible to mention User Groups, but it is possible to mention Teams.
