As the title asks , How do I create a manual-trigger automation rule with a prompt for input that opens a comment field for a screenshot to evidence the step has been completed ?

Hi Trudy.

Thanks for the response it is a company managed project but I'm using the Playbook outside the workflow,

Even if its a prompt for a comment to be added the users woul be able to insert the screen grab from that point. Ideally i want them to have to add a comment at certain stages of the workbook if required. I think i probably need to find another solution maybe within canned responses.

Hello @Alex Kerr

It is possible to create an automation rule that has a manual trigger and prompts the user for input, but the types of inputs that can be requested are limited. At this time it is not possible to prompt for an Attachment.

What type of project does this concern? Get the project Type from the project list available under Projects > More Projects > View All Projects.

If this concerns a Company Managed project, you could add a Transition to the Workflow, and add a Transition Screen to that workflow to present the user with a screen that includes a Comment entry field and an Attachments field.

Hello @Alex Kerr

I have not worked with playbooks yet. I just took a very quick look. It seems like you can provide an Instruction, telling them to go elsewhere and enter a comment, or you can run an Automation Rule.

I did a quick test and it is possible from a Playbook to call an Automation rule with a Manual trigger that prompts for input. But at this time it is not possible to include an attachment with those inputs.

So, yes, I think you will have to consider a different solution.
