Permission tracking

Is there is a native method for logging and/or alerting when elevated permissions/roles are assigned to a user in Jira, JSM, Confluence. If built-in functionality does not exist, what options or 3rd party add-ons are available to meet this need?

Hello @Ted,

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

On Jira it’s possible to view when a user is added/removed from a role or group directly on the audit log (Cog icon > System > Audit log), but it won’t generate a notification.

Also, directly on Cog icon > User management > Security > Audit log you can see more detailed information about who added and removed users from groups or from the site.

There are feature requests suggesting improvements for that:

Please, click on vote and also watch the tickets above to receive updates from our product managers.

I searched for add-ons on our marketplace but didn’t find any that would send this type of notification.

Kind regards,
Angélica

Not quite what I was looking for, but thank you for pointing me in the directions. Bummer this is a wait for a feature, but it is what is is.

Thanks,

Ted
