Not able to edit automation though I am the owner

I am an admin on the service desk project, a few times back I created a global automation, but currently, I am not able to edit and publish it. I tried seeking help from the JIRA admin in my organization as well but he was also not able to provide me access. Can anyone help me with this?

Hi @Mukesh Ojha

A few things you can try/check...

  • Clone; the rule, and see if this lets you edit/publish
  • Assuming you're not a Product Admin, check the rule is not multi-Project or Global - these rules are only editable by Product Admins (i.e Jira Admins). If you're not one, the rule needs to be single Project, in a Project you have Project Admin permissions.
  • Check Project Admin editing of rules is still active. Your Jira Admin will need to check this...
    • Go to Settings (cog icon in top-right) > System
    • Select Global Automation from the left-hand menu
    • In the top-right, select the breadcrumbs (...) > Global Configuration
    • Ensure the checkbox "Allow project administrators to manage project rules." is checked
    • Also, ensure if Groups are set users must be a member of, you are a member of one of those Groups

Let us know if any of these work!
