No option to add new project to an existing organization in jira

I create a new project (space), but I don't see any option for me to add this new project to an existing organization which currently has 6 projects in there already.   When I went to Jira Management -> Organization.   I click on the organization name, it only allows me to add new customers into the organization using emails but there is no option to add more projects to it.    Any ideas?

Hello @Phat Nguyen

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Can you provide a screen image of the page you view that shows multiple projects in an organization?

Hello @Phat Nguyen

You said:

When i clicked on the sccld, it only allows me to put in new users (emails), but there is no option to add more projects/spaces to it.   As you can see, there are currently 6 spaces in the current sccld organization.   I want to add new project to it to make it 7.  Because the new organization doesn't belong to the sccld, its tickets are not showing up in our portal.

The count of projects you are seeing there is not an indication that the project is "in" the Organization. It is an indication that the Organization was added to those projects. You need to add the Organization to the project, not add the project to the Organization.

You need to go to the project (1), and click on Customers (2).

Then click the Organizations tab (3), and click the Add Organizations button (4).

Then you can search for the Organization you want to add to the project.

I don't see any "Customers" (#2) in my project.   Even for the projects that belong to the current organization (one of the 6), Customers (#2) do not show up as one of the configurable options.organization2.png

You don't need to go to the Space Settings to find Customers. It should be available from the main navigation panel when you select the Space.

Hi @Phat Nguyen

  • Organizations are for customers, not projects

  •  You cannot manually add a project to an Organization

  •  Projects become associated automatically when Org customers use them

  •  Only Jira Service Management projects support Organizations
