Need to delete my Atlassian account

Hi,

Need assistance since I am not able to delete my Atlassian account. I've used it for bitbucket, and deleted all the workspaces, but in the licenses I can still see them and they keep renewing even after I deleted them.

I've already deleted the organization, and there are no active paid subscriptions.

Trying to delete my account I get the following:

You can't delete your account

Your account can't be deleted because:

This account is related to active accounts that are set to AUTO-RENEW.

This account is the primary billing contact for one or more products.

This account is a technical contact for one or more products.

To continue deleting this account the account owner needs to visit my.atlassian.com and designate a different user as a billing and technical contact.

I've been trying to open a ticket, but without success, so trying my luck here.

Hi @roniger

It can take a while after you delete your apps and organization before everything is properly processed behind the scenes - to ensure deleted environments can still be restored in case of emergency.

A couple of things you might check yourself to validate if there is no other organisations / licenses your account is associated with:

  • log into admin.atlassian.com and from the dropdown near the top right corner, select view all organizations to see if there's any left there;
  • log into my.atlassian.com and check any active licenses and contact info there.

In the meantime, I also notified Atlassian Support to jump in here and see if they can help you. While that can take a couple of business days, someone will probably reach out to you to help out from here.

I apologize for such a delay on our end! It looks like your account has been deleted. But, 

If the self-service options for account deletion still cannot be completed, please contact support for assistance. Create a support ticket at Atlassian Support  under “Personal Data and GDPR" - select "Request a copy of your personal data" and state the reason that an Atlassian account deletion is required and why the self-service options cannot be utilized.

After validating your eligibility and authentication, our support team can help expedite a request. Please know we can only accelerate Atlassian account deletion to the earliest of 15 days.

Hi Anastasiia,

Thank you, but my account hasn't been deleted yet. 
I get the same message trying to delete the account. There is no way to open a ticket with support as you suggested, and you can see my deleted workspaces continue to renew automatically with no way to stop.

Attaching images of the GDPR support suggested, the error receiving when trying to delete the account, the empty bitbucket workspaces page, the workspaces renewal (license screen)

Hi @roniger,

Sorry to hear your issue is still actual! For the ticket creation, under “Personal Data and GDPR" - select "Request a copy of your personal data" and state the reason that an Atlassian account deletion is required and why the self-service options cannot be utilized. The option you selected gives a guidance for self-service, but since it doesn't work, you'll need to submit a ticket using that other category. 

The other option is to submit a ticket for billing support and request cancellation of all your subscriptions and verifying you can delete your account. For this please create a support ticket here (select Other) so they can investigate this securely.

When you submit the ticket, it helps to include:

  • Your URL, SEN, EN or invoice number if you have it. In not - just skip.

  • A quick description of the issue.

Unfortunately, I cannot have the team cancel your subscription/delete your account without your formal confirmation via the ticket. Please let me know if you manage to create a ticket successfully.

Thank you. I opened a GDPR request as suggested. 

The ticket number is DATA-54250 in case you need it.
