Need a custom field (single pick) with dynamically populated content or issue picker

Hi all,

we would like our customers to select a "parent" issue which we link to their new request.

Currently, we do this via a simple text input field. However, even with validation users could enter an invalid issue number.

Ideally, we would present them with a list of issues to choose from (based on a JQL so they can only pick from those they have access to) or an "issue picker" which works similar to a user picker field (type ahead, limited to what they have access to.

Does anyone know a plugin that does this?

Any other suggestions how to do this?
