My JIRA board headings have disappeared

When first navigating to the board by selecting the stared space I am getting an error "We can't show this space. You don't have permission to view this space, or it may not exist". The error message that pops up says "Space not found. The space might have been deleted or you don't have permission."

I can then see the group on the right and click on it and then the same space is highlighted on the left like it is open.

When I get to the board, I am receiving an error "You don't have permission to view this space". I can see epics etc in what seems like the list view but I can't see the headings at the top under the space name (List, Board, Backlog etc) as they are greyed out.

Some users are saying that they have lost access.
When I go to Space Settings I am the Space Owner.
When I go to Access in the Space Settings I can see my role listed with all roles selected.

Why can't I view the board normally?

Hi @Jayde ,

The most likely cause is missing Jira app access, not the board configuration. Being the space owner, a Product Admin, or having every space role selected does not automatically give the account the Jira user role.

Ask an organization or user-access admin to open Atlassian Administration, go to Directory → Users, open each affected account, and confirm that it has the User role for Jira on the correct site. If it is missing, select Grant access, grant Jira access, then have the user sign out and back in. Atlassian documents the process in Give users access to apps.

If Jira access is already present, confirm that each person is signed in with the expected email address and review Space settings → Access again. On the Free plan, Jira does not allow space permissions or roles to be edited, and the assigned space roles do not override missing app access. If every affected account already has Jira access, the repeated Space not found error would no longer match the documented access model.

Thank you. Turns out the free trial had not ended when it should have and we were somewhat sitting in limbo. They had to move us back to the FREE version so it was sitting in limbo even though all access was correct.
