Migrate users back from Atlassian account to Jira Service Desk

Hi,

Years ago, we wanted our users to collaborate on issues, so whenever they subscribed to our Jira Service Desk, we'd migrate them to an Atlassian Account and they would be normal Jira users.

Now, we want to move them back to Jira Service Desk only, so that they don't count against our licenses:

  • The doc says it is impossible, I'm just crossing my fingers that the doc not be up-to-date?
  • If I delete those users from Jira, is it really true that they can't recreate a portal user at all? (a Jira Service Desk user)
  • Is there a correct strategy, such as adding those customers to a group in Jira which doesn't have access to Jira Software but has access to Jira Service Desk, so that they don't count towards my license limit?

Thank you very much
