As a JSM Cloud admin, are there any native methods used to extrapolate marketplace app utilizations?
Also, is there a way to extrapolate the list of apps being used by the site? Marketplace app information can be found in billing and/or connected apps. Which is the gold standard for accuracy?
Given this is cloud, I would think perhaps the vendor might have information on actual utlization.
Thanks

Some apps, like apps that extend workflows, have their own logging or where present information.
I'm not aware of any app that can see if other apps are used; they would need to have an agreement with every app. Apps can store information in the storage of the vendor/developer.
But I think this should be part of the admin of the instance as well.
Can also be a criteria on purchasing apps, if they have logging, permission options etc...

It will depend on which apps you have installed. Can you give us a couple of examples?
Maybe we can conjure something up for those apps.
But for example, JMWE or Scriptrunner, which mostly runs on a workflow, and some other actions you can see by clicking on the cog -> marketplace apps -> then on shared actions, scripts, events, listener.
To check if they are being use din the workflows, you can query the API using a script to see if the app key is on the workflows.

I was thinking something like Analytics in Jira. Maybe someday. What about app inventory?
I can view apps in billing but that would not include free apps. Alternatively, I can go to connected apps in system and get list by filtering on Installed by "Admin", which should give me all paid apps or filter by "User" which should be all free apps.
Of course this is assuming the users don't have admin access to install.
Regardless, I don't see any option to export a list. It would all be manual effort.

Yes, only paid apps will be listed.

The org admin installs all apps (marketplace). users cant.
You can use the Admin filter for all apps.
The user filter? im a bit conflicted here, i havent seen an app using this filter, so far.

yup, no easy way here. Maybe a 3rd party app?
There is no API to do this.
