Can i List my free Cloud products on other places in addtion to Atlassian Marketplace. Or it must strictly be on the marketplace only?
The Atlassian Marketplace is the dedicated platform for discovering and installing apps for Jira, Confluence, and other Atlassian products. These apps are also discoverable directly within the products, making it easy for customers to find and evaluate solutions.
One of the key benefits of the Marketplace is the security checks and approval process, which helps build trust and ensures a level of quality and safety for end users.
Before the Marketplace existed, vendors (now called Atlassian Partners) would sell or distribute plugins independently - often directly to clients or bundled as part of services. The Marketplace significantly streamlined this by offering better visibility, discoverability, and the ability to showcase app features.
You can (and should) promote your solutions - but as an administrator, I personally would not install any app from outside the Marketplace, unless it's a custom-developed solution with a clearly defined scope and trusted source.
Hi @Testimony Akinkunmi , glad you asked! As a partner, you can only link to the Atlassian Marketplace or Partner Directory, not an external website (with exceptions).
There are Partner Guidelines for the Community that will help you understand all this and they spell it out clearly (which helps us all). There's also a specific Community Group called Apps Central for providing information about your apps, and the Atlassian Partner Solutions Community Group where you can post questions and info about products.
Hope this helps, good luck with your app!
