Linking Tickets to Asset Objects on Ticket Creation

Is there a way to link tickets directly to a Hardware Asset, based on if that specific asset is assigned to the reporter.

I have an idea on what to use for the JQL to filter out specific things, but I can't seem to find a way to edit the linked ticket field via Automation.

Anyone have any examples or is this not possible currently?

Can you share more details on what you are trying to achieve?

• I don't think it possible to link a ticket directly i.e. manually to an asset
• However, if your ticket has an Asset field and it is set to an object, if you go to the asset object, you will see the ticket in the Linked issues section
