My users do not want to use the built in "Add PIR" button because it does not pull in any fields from the incident other than linking it as a primary incident, so using a manual trigger automation we're able to copy all the fields we need to the PIR and also link the incident using the "is reviewed by relationship" which is the relationship used when manually linking a primary incident, anyone know if there is an action to link an incident as a primary incident for the out of the box PIR issue/request type?
For those who may find this post seeking a similar solution it seems like it's not possible yet

Is it too out of the question to suggest a custom issue type (cPIR), and setup an automation to create a new cPIR issue every time an Incident Task is closed?
With that you'd have Incident Task as Trigger issue on your automation, and have access to all its fields, including Link Issue To: Trigger Issue.
I understand it's not the best practices, but I can't advise on [System] PIR.
Hope the idea is of some use though.
