Jira custom fields date in subtask

Why would my data in a issue / task not carry to a sub task. I.E. I have a custom field VENDOR CONSTRUCTION COMPANY in my tasks which is populated but in my sub task it is empty

Welcome to our Community.

This field value is not inherited from Task to its Sub-tasks in Jira.

The common solution is to use Jira automation to copy that value to sub-tasks.
