Jira automation copy value from trigger incident to linked ticket

Dear Community,

I am facing an issue, which I hope you can help to resolved.

I have build an automation creating a task in Jira SW if certain conditions are met in a Jira SM incident.

I have also included that summary, description and assignee is being copied and the issues are linked.

However, I have a custom field (select cascading with parent and child field), which is not supported by automation.,

My questions is if I can copy the value in this custom field from the trigger issue as a comment into the created ticket. When creating an extra action like below, I get the comment in the trigger issue and not the new one.

Hi @Theis Joergensen

I think that for the "Comment on issue" action, you need to embed this into a branch.

Something like this :

So you create a branch and you change "Current issue" for "Linked issues" and then you add your comment.

Hope this helps.

Have a nice day

Hi @Theis Joergensen

What exactly do you mean "cascading select list" is not supported in automation?

Furthermore for better analyze:
Could you please share a screenshot of the whole auomation rule?

Thanks in advance.

Best
Stefan

@Stefan Salzl @Frederic Chartrand

When i trigger a new issue being created in another project, i can select some fields to be migrated along with it, ex. summary and description. But this custom field i have "technical component" is not in that list. I do find other custom fields though, and this is the reason i assume this specific custom field type i not supported.

"technical component" is a fields that consist of parent and child. So if i select ex. "app" i will have specific values in field two, which is linked to this.

By creating a new brach, i have managed to get a comment in the triggered issues. However, it's not picking up the fields value.

Only the first part:

I assume something is wrong in my smart value, perhaps you can point me in a direction?
