Hi All,

I am using automation for an onboarding process, and one of my custom fields is employee start date. in the automation I call on the field using {{issue.employee start date}}, and when the email is sent, the date format is DD/MM/YYYY.

Is there anything I can do to change that format to something else? I'd like it to read either MM/DD/YYYY or with text like Jan 1 2023.

Hi @Charner Boney

I guess you are using a date field in your email...

I think you can use smart values to format the date value as you want ;)

https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/jira-smart-values-date-and-time/

For example:

{{issue.employee start date.mediumDate}}

I hope this helps a bit.
Dam.
