Is there a way to pull employee information into a JSM Form

We have employee data in a database that contains information such as their Employee ID, Dept, Manager and other details. When they create a JSM request using a form we want to be able to pull their data into fields from the database. Is there a way to do this with an external database other than having to recreate the data in Assets?

Hello @Kathleen Hamilton

Other than using Assets as out of the box solution, no. As an alternative, to pull the data from your database you would use an app like eazyBI.

Hi @Kathleen Hamilton

You could start using Assets, and store the current information in Assets.

This would require a 3rd party solution.

You could look at:

  • External Data for Jira Fields
  • Elements Connect
  • others
