Is there a way to add an american date type ass a field in jria (mm- dd - yy)?

Hello!

I'd like to ask you for help in the question related to an American date writing format.

Can I set in the field so the date will be looking as: mm- dd- yy and how can Iset it later in the automation for sending out a notification email in the task title (so that the date would be shown automatically and shown in the email (by taking the info from the task. 

I know how to do it with the date writing format which is not American.
