Is there a way of managing tasks within a Jira Service project with SLAs?

Hello AC,

I have tasks that I do daily or weekly and have to be submitted at specific times of the day or week.

I would like to track these within a Jira Service Project, is this possible? If so, how can I go about making these changes in my service project?

Hi @Esther Amunga ,

you can certainly create these issues in your JSM project and you can create unique SLA to track progress. I cannot share my thoughts on the approach without understanding more details. It might be that you simply create a unique Request type or maybe you would be best served with a unique Issuetype. Likely you will want to hide from the portal by not including the RT in any group.

Hi @Jack Brickey ,

Thank you for your response.

I do agree with you.

However I am still stuck at how would I configure the SLAs.

For example, lets say I want to do backups every day by 10 am or submit a certain report every Monday by 12 noon or submit a report 2 times in a month mid-month and end month.  How can I configure these SLAs?

Please advise

@Esther Amunga ,

I’m not sure I would use SLAs for this. It seems to me that you are trying to create scheduled tasks. For this I would use Automation to create new tasks on your desired schedule. You can create a rule to trigger when needed (day of week, time of day, etc.). You can find more on scheduled Automation here - automation-triggers
