Is it possible to change status like from "complete" to "close"?

It depends on what you mean by "change status". If you mean transition an issue from complete to close, this mean that an actual transition between the two status must exist (or a global transition to close). If you mean that you want to change the name of the status from complete to close, then you can also do that, but this will affect your whole instance and all the places where complete status is used.

If you rename the status from Complete to Close, it will be a universal change, meaning it  will change all the workflows across Jira.
