Is confluence required if using the knowledge base per project?

Our agents are creating documents relative to each project but they are not available to customers and such. Can I use the knowledge base without having to pay for confluence?

Hi Romy, as I understand it, if you are using JSM, and want to use the Knowledge Base functionality, it uses Confluence.  I found this article from Atlassian specific to Knowledge Management. Knowledge Management in JSM

I guess it depends on how many people you want editing KB articles, as that can impact how many Confluence users you have and how much storage you need. If you have less than 10 users and need < 2GB of storage, Confluence is free.

Hope that helps.
