Is OpsGenie required for the MS Teams connection with Service Projects?

We are attempting to connect our Service Project with MS Teams  as per the instructions in this article: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/connect-microsoft-teams-to-your-service-project/

However, we receive the following error message when we give permission for the App to connect with our Jira Tenant which suggests we require OpsGenie (which is not mentioned in the instructions). Has anyone else had the same issue?

"Your Jira site couldn’t be connected. Only sites with an Opsgenie account can be connected to this Microsoft tenant. Please select a different Jira site."

Thanks

I received the same message while following the instructions in the same article. My Jira Service Management has integration with OpsGenie.

It definitely seems to be an oversight to mention the OpsGenie requirement in the setup documentation.

@Won Lee  I think you will need to setup the integration between OpsGenie and Teams as well.

@Kylie Green

I reached out to support and they told me the feature hasn't been released. They told me it'd be another 2 weeks. I signed up for their Early Access Program to try it out

After signing up for the EAP, I was able to enable the feature. With each ticket, you can choose to create a new group chat or start a meeting in Teams.
