Import destination attribute type automatically converting to text?

Stella Aversa July 14, 2025

When I am importing data into Sandbox, is there a way to not have the attribute type automatically converting to text? If I am importing data into an object type that has identical attributes, how can I make sure the imported data says "group" or "select" with the attached options rather than the attribute type being text?

Hi @Stella Aversa

Check the attributes in the assets schema you are importing to, the type of field it will be is based on the type of attribute that is defined.

If an A tribute A is of type Text, the imported value to type a will be Text.

If an attribute is type Status, the imported value in the cvs file is either an existing status, or a new status will be created.

So you mention identical attributes, I suspect in name, but not in type, check this.

@Marc - Devoteam Yes, thank you! This was incredibly helpful. I created mapping--but when I imported, nothing showed up? I'm confused.

Hi @Stella Aversa

Are there already objects created, remove them first.

Can you show screenshots of the asset scheme and the object attributes?
