Is there a user interface where I can prepare and test complete IQL statements for my Automations in the Atlassian Cloud?

Using Advanced Search to create JQL statements is extremely helpful.

As someone just starting working with Insight, it is hard to learn IQL without a way to explore it freely.

I found 2 ways in the documentation, but both seem to be very limited.

  1. The advanced search in the object editor - the problem is that this only works on the selected object type.
  2. The search box in the Insight home page (according to the documentation) - Icouldnt't get any results from IQL statements while text search works fine.

Hi @Arnd Layer - I've found this works best for me:

  1. Start in Insight and get your IQL query solidified.
  2. Once you've got the IQL the way you want it, open up a JQL search and switch to Basic search mode.  This will allow you to copy/paste the IQL the way it works in Insight.
  3. Switch to Advanced mode and Jira will have automatically added the necessary quotes and backslashes to make it JQL friendly.
