I own
lleyam.atlassian.netand need to recover administrative access to that existing site. I can authenticate successfully to my Atlassian account, but it reports that my account does not have access to Confluence onlleyam.atlassian.net. I have accidentally created additional organisations/sites while trying to recover access and do not want the existinglleyam.atlassian.netsite deleted or replaced.
Hello @Lleyam Bartholomew ,
@Trudy P Claspill is right that nobody here can act on your account, and support is the guaranteed path. But before you wait on a ticket, there are two self-service checks that resolve the most common versions of exactly this situation, and one reassurance you asked for.
Check 1: are you signed into the right Atlassian account? The detail that gives this away is the accidental extra organisations. When you are signed into an account that has no organisation, the "get access" buttons walk you into creating a new subscription rather than joining your existing one, which is precisely how stray sites appear. So: find the original welcome or billing email from when lleyam.atlassian.net was created and note which email address received it. Then check which account you are currently signed into at id.atlassian.com/manage-profile. If they differ, sign out completely and sign in with the original email, and your admin access will most likely be exactly where you left it.
Check 2: if it is the right account, grant yourself access. Go to admin.atlassian.com while signed in. If the organisation containing lleyam.atlassian.net appears there, you still hold organisation admin, and the missing piece is only Confluence product access, which you can restore yourself: open Directory, then Users, select your own user, and add Confluence access from the profile. Org admins normally receive product access automatically, but it can be removed while the admin role remains, which produces exactly the "your account does not have access" screen you are seeing. Reference on the roles: https://support.atlassian.com/user-management/docs/what-are-the-different-types-of-admin-roles/
If neither check works, the account that owns the site is genuinely out of your reach, and then Trudy's route is the only one: contact Atlassian through the link she gave, and mention the site URL and the original owning email in the ticket.
On your worry about the extra sites: the accidentally created organisations are completely separate from lleyam.atlassian.net. Cleaning them up later cannot delete or replace your real site. Just apply one safety habit when you do: before deleting anything, check the organisation name at the top of admin.atlassian.com so you are certain which org you are standing in.
The issue was an Atlassian account mix-up! I didn't realise I had more than one but, having now determined that I do, I should be able to merge the two into one. Thanks for your help.
