Hello,

I have the problem that I cannot enter a date in any date fields except the due date in a sub-task. The configuration of these fields is the same. What can I do?

I have also customised the screens and created additional date fields for testing. None of this worked.

Hi @Schmitz_ Nico

Welcome to the community.

You can only edit the fields, by opening the specific issue, not all fields in the sub-task section within a parent can be inline edited.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Why can I edit one date field and not another? I can enter something for the due date(Fälligkeitsdatum), but not for Start date(Startdatum). That makes no sense to me.

I would understand if you could not edit both, but why only one and not two date fields.

Hi @Schmitz_ Nico

This is because Due Date is a system field and Start Date a custom field created by an admin or even a 3rd party app.

Jira can't no names of the fields and just place them as inline editable. This is currently only doable on system fields.

Hi @Schmitz_ Nico

No even placing this field on the screen if it wasn't will make it editable.

Or context for certain Task types, will not impact this.

Just a possibility: perhaps the filter is set to display other date fields but the actual field configuration for certain task types contains no other date fields. In that case, the column is displayed as empty and will accept no entry.
