How to validate a dependence of two fields in a workflow

Hi,

I would like to add the following validation/condition into my workflow.

If the value of a radio button is "YES" than also the value of another number field must be greater than 0. If this condition is false an error message will appear. And you will not be able to change the transition or do an update to the issue.

Is this possible?

Thanks a lot!

BR, Markus

Hi @Markus_Landsiedler

Or even revert the transition via the automation, as suggested by @Jaime Escribano _knowmad mood_

But within the workflow your are definitely depended on 3rd party apps on the marketplace.

With properties set on a status you could prohibit editing, but there are no options to prohibit editing based on conditions or validations, this is controlled by the permissions on the project.

Hi Markus.

It is not possible to achieve that functionality out of the box. You could create a "Field Conditional validator" if you use this plugin (which my company created) Workflow Magic Box | Atlassian Marketplace

Another alternative would be to create an automation that checks for the conditional after the transition and in case of error transitions the issue back to the previous status and adds a comment. This is free, but it's not super intuitive for the end-user.

Let me know if I can help!
