How to sync user hierarchy from oracle table to JIRA Cloud?

sanaz_afshar_netgear_com

Hi all,

We utilize JIRA Data Center, and the implemented solution for retrieving user hierarchy data from an Oracle DB table is outlined as follows:

In our company's Oracle, there is a table containing user hierarchy data with columns:

Username | User Email | Manager Name | VP Name | Contactor | Employee

We have created the same Table in our JIRA DB (external DB table) with the same columns.

The information from the Oracle table is seamlessly synchronized daily to our designated JIRA External DB table through a REST API solution (Informatica).

Within this setup, we have a custom user picker field, namely "Manager Name." The field's value is automatically populated based on the logged-in user, extracting the information from the External DB table detailed earlier, utilizing a script runner.

Now, the question arises: How can we replicate this functionality on JIRA Cloud?

@sanaz_afshar_netgear_com -

In the cloud env, you will need to utilize REST APIs custom development again.  However, you may not be able to create backend database tables as you did in Data Center env where you have the control.

You may want to search Atlassian Marketplace for possible third party add-on that can support your need or provide Oracle integration for the Cloud env.

You can also contact Atlassian Support (https://support.atlassian.com) for their further assistance and possible solutions to address your ask.

Sorry.
