How to store data from a custom form in Jira

Hi, I'm a new dev here.

I want to know what API should I call to store custom data in custom fields whenever I submit data from a custom form in the project settings page.

I have read that using custom fields is only for issues only, and so far I haven't found an answer for this specific situation.

Welcome to the community, as far as I know that Atlassian is working on incorporating "FORM" APIs

It is targeted for Q2 2023.  As of right now, if you configure your FORM's elements to always map to to actual JSM issue's fields, then you can use JSM APIs to access the the data just as how you understood right now.

Hi, thanks for replying but this is not what I'm looking for.

I found that there is a Storage API I can call to store values so I will be using that one.
