How to provide Operations view access for internal user who do not have JIRA admin access

Harshveer Kaur

HI team, currently we are using JSM on-call facility in JIRA where we need to see the on-call person of a respective support group under "Operations".

We noticed that people who don't have JIRA admin access can't able to view the support groups or team group which they aren't part of.

So, please guide us on how to enable this access to people who don't have JIRA admin access.

Note: This is required as we need to limit JIRA admin access only to key stakeholders

Hi @Harshveer Kaur

What are you using, are you using teams or groups in the system.

Groups and user management is for admins only.

You can grant user the User Admin Access role, but this is not recommended.

Users can't see members of groups as this is admin related and not a user related function.

Hi Marc, you know under Operations there's option to create teams for on-call response, we have that.

We know that if someone is JIRA admin, they can see all the teams under operations and make changes, but if someone who is not and admin, just want to have visibility on on-call schedules, is that possible to do?

We don't want to give admin access to all. Just want to know if visibility is possible or not.

Hi @Harshveer Kaur

This is only possible if they are part of the team or as you mentioned Jira admin.
