Hi Atlassian Community,
I have used a personal external email account to conduct some "customer" testing of the project and the Portal.
To my surprise, I am finding that it's impossible to delete these records permanently.
I have read through the discussions and tried the steps with no luck.
Here are my steps:
a. Click on the Customers under the Project:
b. Select the customer
c. When I click on view profile, I regularly get this message:
d. Even after clicking on the delete button, the customer records still remains:
Does anyone know the best way to remove customers permanently?
Regards,
Alex
Hello @Alex H,
Thank you for reaching out to Community!
Checking the details of your site, I can see that you are not a site administrator, that’s why you didn’t find the option from the documentation mentioned by Brant.
In order to delete a customer account, it’s necessary to go to Cog icon > User management.
You are a Jira administrator, but only a Site administrator can delete accounts.
Please, reach out to the site administrator for them to delete the customer accounts.
Kind regards,
Angélica
I was granted organisational admin rights this morning.
Since being changed to organisation admin, I now have access to the Cog icon > User management.
However, two of the test customers (i.e. external accounts) are not being listed.
I have tried doing a manual search and following the steps as per @Brant Schroeder links again, but unfortunately these names are not showing up in the results.
I am not sure if having a @gmail.com account has anything to do it with it, but I thought to mention it.
Lastly, I am also not sure if having Alex H (internal) and Alex H (external) is impacting the ability for us to delete the user (for example).
Do you have any other suggestions?
Kind Regards,
Alex H

Hi Alex,
Have you searched the customers on Cog icon > User management > Jira Service Management?
That’s the page where the customers are listed and where you can manage their accounts:
Customers only appear under "Users" if their accounts are migrated to Atlassian account.

Hi @Angélica Luz ,
Thank you very much for your help.
I have finally achieved the goal in deleting unwanted portal customer accounts.
A picture truly speaks a thousand words :-).
Have a nice day.
Regards,
Alex

@Alex H Welcome to the Atlassian Community
You are removing the customer from the service desk https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/remove-a-customer-from-a-service-project/
You will need to be a Jira admin and follow these instructions to delete the account https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/delete-a-customers-account/

Thank you, but unfortunately these options don't work for me.
These are my results:

As you can see, User Management isn't even showing up.
Please note that I am a Jira Admin.
