Our company is currently using Opsgenie. Most users use the Opsgenie mobile application to get their notifications (alerts, escalations). Some of our users prefer this more effective (mobile application push notification) vs other notification methods.
Now with the migration to JSM, as I understand, the mobile app for this is the Jira mobile application. In this application, we receive notifications not only from JSM projects, but from Jira Software projects as well.
Users usually get tons of notifications from various Jira projects. What can you suggest to make the JSM-related notifications be more amplified than other Jira notifications. It was not a problem before, because if the notification is from Opsgenie mobile app, user instantly knows its an incident and will look at it immediately. But now, it gets mixed up with all other Jira notifications (as I understand).
Welcome to the community.
Look at why so many notifications are sent, are the notifications schemes used on projects ready for an overhaul.
Make the subject of an alert escalations clear.
User can also define email settings in their personal profile.
All options you can go over to minimise notifications to users.
In my opinion any notification a user receives from Jira should be useful, and definitely not based on an action a user executed and they get a notification on their own action.
