How to enable "Participant's Local Time" for Custom Timing Rotations in JSM Operations?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to configure a weekend on-call schedule in Jira Service Management (Operations) for a team split across two timezones (3 members in UTC-7 and 1 member in UTC-6).

The Goal: The on-call shift needs to be Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM local time for whoever is on rotation.

  • For the UTC-7 members, this is 8 AM – 8 PM MST.

  • For the UTC-6 member, this should effectively be 7 AM – 7 PM MST (so she can work 8 AM – 8 PM her time).

The Issue: I have the rotation set to "Custom Timings" to handle the weekend-only shifts. However, I cannot find the setting to "Use Participant's Local Time."

I have checked the Rotation Edit screen, but there is no timezone dropdown or "advanced settings" link available under the Timings or Participants sections. The only timezone visible is the global "Schedule's time zone" at the very top, which I cannot change to a per-participant setting.

My Questions:

  1. Is the "Participant's Local Time" feature disabled when using Custom Timings?

  2. Where has this setting moved in the latest JSM Operations UI?

  3. If this isn't supported for Custom Timings, how can I achieve a "follow the sun" style shift for a single member without manually creating overrides every time she is on call?

Current Setup:

  • Schedule Timezone: America/Denver (UTC-7)

  • Rotation Type: Custom Timings

  • Shift: Sat/Sun 08:00 - 20:00

Any help or workarounds would be appreciated!
