How to create a new text field (a Paragraph field) in Jira and effectively migrate contents from an existing text field (a Short text field)? 

On a side note: Is there a way to increase the character limit of the Short text field?

Hi @Priya Mathanagopal , are you working with a Company Managed or Team Managed project? Check the lower left corner. Basically you can create the new field and then setup a manual automation rule to copy the contents of the old field to the new field.

action - edit issue - select the new field and set the value via a smartvalue - {{issue.old field}}
