Hi,

if you don't have regular projects in Jira, but rather larger tasks, such as modernizing a network, how do you handle that? I've seen that you can have multiple projects in Jira, and you can create a new project under Project Settings, but then you get a completely new interface, and you have to recreate all the assets, right?
So how do you handle it when you have a larger task? Do you create a new ticket with lots of subtasks? The tasks should not have SLAs either, because the project can take several weeks. When should you create a new project in Jira?

Hi @Antonia

Treat Jira projects as workspaces. If the tasks involve the same people and workflows, it’s usually sufficient to create an epic and manage tasks under it.

However, if the project involves different teams or stakeholders, it’s better to set up a dedicated project.

Additionally, if you’re only managing tasks and don’t require a portal, a Jira project will be more suitable than a JSM project.

Regards,

Fabian
