How do we customize portal for JSM

I know that by default without any addons, we can change the colors on the JSM portal.  Where did that move to?  I've looked everywhere and i swear it's gone :|

I can still see it from the help center, I don't think each individual JSM project portal can have a different color but the help center (basically the splash page with list of portals) is where you can change the colors and banner

Hi Tim,

You’re not wrong — that option used to be right there! 😅
Atlassian recently moved and redesigned how the JSM Help Center and Portal customization settings are managed.

Here’s where you can find it now 👇

✅ For the global Help Center (affects all portals):

  1. Go to Jira settings → Products → Jira Service Management → Configuration
  2. Under Help center settings, click Customize
  3. From there, you can change:
    • Help Center banner color
    • Logo
    • Name and welcome message
    • Optional announcement message

This affects all customer portals under your Help Center.

⚙️ For a specific Service project’s portal:

  1. Go to your JSM project → Project settings → Channels → Customer portal
  2. You’ll see options to edit the portal name, introduction text, and banner color
    (if your instance is on the new Help Center experience, some color options are limited).

If you’re using the new theming experience, some visual settings (like custom colors and header background) are temporarily disabled while Atlassian transitions to the new unified design.

Hmm - I've had a look and I cannot find it either. The new nav on our instance does not match the documentation.

The documentation reads like this is only possible with Premium or Enterprise plans. But I'm on Premium and cannot find it. :-\
