I am trying to add a request type/option to have an external team member submit a request for a software project on Jira. I have done this before with Service Projects but cannot find how to do so, or if its possible, with a software project.
The Raise Request button and the Request Type field in the left side bar do not exist for my software projects. Is this possible or is there another way I can get something similar set up?

It is only JSM projects that has the request type, JSW do not have this feature. You could use then new Jira Work Management, it allows you to create a form that the user can fill out as a simple intake form.
