I know how to set a default value for a field in general. My question is more about how I can set the default value for a single service request.
We have two service requests that use the same field, but the field should only be output with a default value in one of the service requests. The other one should not have a default value! I only found the setting for how to insert a default value for the general/complete field.
Hey @Antonia ,
Welcome to Atlassian community!
In Jira/JSM, setting a default value for a field is typically done at the field context or screen level, which applies to all issues using that context. However, if you want a default value to appear only for a specific service request type (not all requests or issue types), you need to use the request type’s configuration.
Use Request Type Field Configuration (Jira Service Management):
Go to Project settings > Request types.
Select the specific service request type you want to configure.
Click Edit fields.
For each field, you can set a default value (if supported for that field type) that will only apply when this request type is used.
I hope this helps!

thank you for your answer!
So this isn't intended for this field, right? I can only set a default value for the entire field, but not for a specific request type. It's just a field with a dropdown menu where you can select a value.
