How can Jira comments be updated when earlier email threads are modified?

Hi,
When we reply to an email thread, it successfully adds a new comment to the Jira ticket. However, if we make edits to earlier parts of the email thread, those changes are not reflected as updated comments in Jira.

Could you please confirm if there's any way to update previous comments through the email thread?

If not, could you provide any related documentation or guidance on this?

How are you editing an email?  Jira is taking a snapshot whenever you include the issue key in the email.  How are you able to edit the email after it's been sent?  Would it be possible for you to manually edit the Jira comment?
