How can I automate updating Asset fields when another field changes?

I want to automate updating Asset fields when another field is changed. For example, when a version like "sqlserver-ee 15.00.4073.23.v1" is imported or entered in the Version field, I’d like the Database Type field to show "SQL Server" and the Edition field to show "Enterprise" for easier reporting.

Is there way to trigger an automation when a Field is updated in an Asset Record?

Yes, there is, but you will need to create a global automation rule.

Triggers based on assets can only be done by global rules, not on project level
