Exporting from JXL

Bevis Hungate
December 8, 2023

I understand the exporting function from JXL and I have successfully used it to export to Excel; however these exports don't look half as lovely as the reports do within Jira e.g. there's no conditional formatting, hierarchy indentations etc.  Unfortunately we will need to export from JXL to provide these data to external bodies, and can't give them direct access to Jira.  Does anyone know of a better way to export from JXL which retains some of the more attractive features?  Very grateful for any ideas.

Hello Bevis. Thanks for your question. I'll take this one, as I work on the team behind JXL.

Currently, there is no way to include these view preferences in your exports. We have planned to optionally include conditional formatting, hierarchy, structuregrouping, etc. in our export feature. This is on our short to mid-term roadmap, so you can expect this to behave the way you need sometime in the first half of 2024.

Hope this helps.

I am having the same issue today and we are nearly at the end of 2024. Do you know how I can now export with conditional formatting and hierarchy? Thank you in advance for your help. Natalie
