Due to small team size, should we merge different projects into 1 (based on business ask)

We were running 3 different projects but in new team structure, we have small teams (3-5) across all and now business is asking to merge all projects into 1. 

While fundamentally I am not aligned to merge projects, can you pls. share advantage and challenges in this approach?

Welcome to the community!

One Challenge with merging is that you have to standardize the workflows and screens.  If you have a service request with different workflows between the two projects you will have to come up on how the new issue type will look like in the single project and then move the older tickets to the new one.  

Also, note that people may be able to view and edit tickets from tasks that they didn't own before when they were separate projects.

IDs will all be the same so you will have to have a custom field for teams or assigned group to ensure they are actioned properly.

The only advantage is that everything is one place and easy to manage once you figure out the consolidation.
