Display Custom Field in Automation->Email

I've created an automation that sends an email when an issue is updated.

Most of the fields in the email are displaying correctly but I cannot get the contents of the custom field "Menu Item" to display. I have tried:

{{issue.[Menu Item]}}
{{issue.Menu Item.name}}
{{issue.Menu Item.description}}
{{issue.Menu Item}}
{{issue.[Menu Item]}}
{{issue.[Menu Item].id}}
{{issue.Menu Item.displayName}}
{{issue.Menu Item.value}}
{{issue.Menu Item_00000}}

Any help would be appreciated.

What is the type field of Menu Item?

The correct syntaxe would be {{issue.Menu Item.value}} 

But the value, depends on the custom field type and project type.
