Customer portal - status filter by external status name?

We use internal and external workflow names. Currently the status filter has two options:

1. open / closed

2. internal workflow status names

Is there a setting to change status filter in customer portal to use external workflow status names?

Any suggested Marketplace apps that gives us more control of status filter?

Are you wanting to remove the options for Open Requests and Closed Requests?

I found an option to show only the Open/Closed options or to show All Statuses, but no option that would remove the Open/Closed options.:

Are you wanting to show only the external workflow status names in the customer portal? Or both internal and external?

I found information that says the customer should see only the status names defined as part of the various Request Types under Workflow Statuses / Status names to show customer. It appears that this would need to be done for each Request Type in the project.

Gemini was telling me that there are still some cases where internal statuses might be shown, but I would start with making sure all request types have the above mappings completed.
