Created custom field, added to 1 request type, but shows on all request types

1. created custom field

2. added the screen to it

3. modified my chosen request type to include new custom field

4. now it shows in all request types, but i only want it in 1 request type.

5. only way i can see to get the outcome is to one-by-one remove this new custom field from all other request types except my chosen one.

Please advise! Thanks in advance

Are all your request types using the same issue type?  One solution would be to create a field context so that the field only displays for the issue type linked to the request type you want.

Another solution would be to create a different screen for the specific issue type - but again it would be issue type based so if you are using the same issue type for multiple request types it would still show up.

You can hide the field from the other request types in the portal view, but not in the agent view.

I have about 12 issue types which are a mix of 4 request types.

I have since gone in and removed one by one the field from 11 of the customer views and agent views but that took time.
