Copy comments across linked projects

Hi,
I have created an automation that should copy comments across two linked projects, a source in Jira Service Management and a destination in Jira Software.
The rule is set as global and it looks as follows:
The work items that are created (successfully) are linked as "is caused by" and "causes". I have tried adding both conditions, then I thought this might be an issue so I simplified so that I copy comments from source to original and I would create another rule for the opposite direction.
However, neither work.
The audit logs show the rule worked successfully.
What am I missing here?
