I'm trying to create a condition on a transition so that if a certain value is matched the transition is not available. Easy enough usually, you just find the string or option Id you're concerned with an add a condition to say != to string / ID.
Has anyone ever got that to work with an Assets field though? I've tried the string option as the field name, and the asset ID for the object name. Neither seem to work.
Hi @Joshua Bennett !
I'm afraid that even though the UI you could think the functionality is supported you aren't really able to do it OOTB.
You can see other users asked about this in this ticket last year which sadly is still relevant Solved: Workflow condition based on Asset field
The TL;DR is that you could use any app that allows for Jira Expressions in workflows such as ScriptRunner (if you have it already) of Workflow Magic Box (cheaper, also made by my company so keep that bias in mind). The ticket I linked before includes an example on how to do it!
Hope that was helpfull.

Jaime Escribano

Hey @Joshua Bennett
You can use in the "condition" on the workflow - "Value Field" and check the value of the Asset custom field.
