Can we make a jira field as readonly at JIRA request portal

Chandrashekhar Maruti Badar January 22, 2025

We have fields appearing on conditional basis at JIRA service request portal for customers. These field have 'default value' set in them, and customer role user are able to 'Edit' these default values, even if we have used  a field type as 'Text Field (read only)'

Is there a way, we can make these fields Non-editable to customer user? Is there any add-on which can help achieve the scenario?

Thank you in advance.

Hi @Chandrashekhar Maruti Badar

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You can set a default value on the form/request type which hides the field but if you need it to be visible and read only you may be able to use scriptrunner to achieve this

Hi @Christopher Yen

Thank you so much for your response. Appreciate it.

Does the provided steps apply to Jira SM Cloud? Our understanding is that, there are challenges to achieve such scenarios in JSM cloud. Still I will try it once.
