Hello, I'd like using Alerts feature with forms to manage asset conflicts effectively.
Specifically, when selecting an asset for a period (via a date and time field) I would like to receive an alert if the asset is already booked for the same period by someone else.
Currently, JSM does not support real-time conflict detection for asset scheduling natively.
Could the Alerts feature be adapted for this purpose? If not, how do you handle asset scheduling conflicts in your JSM instance? I would appreciate learning about your experiences or any solutions you've implemented.
Thank you!
Great use case that you are sharing. One option would be to use a jql validator at creation that checks for tickets that contain a certain asset in the custom field and uses jql to check that no conflicts exists between start and end dates. You may have to purchase on of the plugins such as JWME to perform this validation.
JSM alerts are used for incident management. So they only work for incident tickets.
I hope this helps.
Fabian
