Can't add attachments to Jira Discovery Idea

The "add attachment" field is shown in the idea within a Jira Discovery project, but selecting a file (tried multiple types) does nothing. Screen returns to idea page with no attachment added and no sign of upload. Not sure what else to try?

It is not clear on what you are asking,  please provide more details so we can assist further.

1) Where are you trying to attach the file to the issue? Portal UI's request type or Project UI issue screen?

2) What kind of file are you trying to attach to the issue?

Please advise.

Here: 

- I have tried attaching PDFs and JPGs with no success. I select the file and try to add it, nothing happens for around 40 seconds then I get the message saying "failed to upload attachment"

For this issue, you need to contact Atlassian Support (https://support.atlassian.com) for their assistance.  It seems to me it is an application env issue for your site.

"Failed to upload attachment" has started showing on certain attempts with no explanation why..
